November 21, 2023
The Chicago Council on Global Affairs selected Special Counsel Ali Alsarraf to join its Emerging Leaders Class of 2024. He is among only 20 members who were chosen for their “ambition and commitment to their community.”
As an Emerging Leader, Ali will spend the next year studying civil discourse about today’s global challenges and their impact on the city of Chicago. He and the cohort will “develop the knowledge, networks, and skills to generate collective change on local and international scales,” according to the Council.
Ali’s profile highlights his advocacy for companies and individuals in complex and high-stakes disputes. His practice includes representing clients in litigation, investigations, and other crises that pose material threats to their businesses or brands.
He is also noted for his civic involvement. In the community today, Ali serves as President of the Muslim Bar Association of Chicago and as an associate board member of The Chicago Committee on Minorities in Large Law Firms. Previously during law school, he founded a chapter of the International Refugee Assistance Project and received the Miller-Johnson Equal Justice Award for his commitment to civil and social justice.
The Chicago Council on Global Affairs is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing knowledge and engagement in global affairs.
