Jenner & Block’s Law Firm and Professional Services Defense Practice Receives Band 1 National Ranking; Co-Chairs Recognized in 2024 Chambers USA

Jenner & Block is pleased to announce its Law Firm and Professional Services Defense Practice achieved a Nationwide Band 1 ranking in the 2024 edition of Chambers USA. This marks the first year that Chambers has included a Nationwide Law Firm Defense category among its rankings.

In addition to its Band 1 ranking, all four of the firm’s Law Firm and Professional Services Defense Practice co-chairs achieved individual Nationwide recognitions in the “Law Firm Defense” category: Michael McNamara achieved a Band 1 ranking; Kirsten Hicks Spira and John Storino achieved Band 2 rankings, and April Otterberg was named an Up and Coming lawyer.

“It is an honor for our Law Firm Defense Practice to have achieved the elite ranking from Chambers during the inaugural year for our category,” said Jenner & Block’s Law Firm and Professional Services Defense Co-Chairs, Michael McNamara, April Otterberg, Kirsten Hicks Spira, and John Storino in a joint statement. “We are proud to represent our profession and this recognition is a testament to our clients’ trust in us.”

According to Chambers, “Jenner & Block is regularly seen defending legal industry clients across the full gamut of legal issues, acting for a broad spectrum of multinational, mid-size and boutique firms. The practice enjoys a sterling reputation for its advocacy skills, with a wealth of expertise defending malpractice and ethics claims in trial and in arbitration.”

Chambers relies heavily on client feedback in determining their rankings, with clients and peers describing the practice as having “a very deep understanding of the issues,” “outstanding analytical skills,” and the ability to “break down complexity and manage it in a very productive way.”

Jenner & Block is among the nation’s leading Law Firm and Professional Services Defense firms and is sought after by law firms and lawyers across the country seeking counseling or an aggressive defense in some of their most serious and sensitive matters. The practice has represented more than 75 law firms across the country and nearly 25 percent of Am Law 100 firms.

Chambers USA rankings are compiled using a methodology that involves client interviews, peer reviews, and independent research. Our Law Firms and Professional Services Practice received an engagement rate of over 90 percent from clients, far exceeding the average response rate of 30 percent.
