Jenner & Block Elevates Class of 10 Lawyers to Partnership

Jenner & Block elevated 10 lawyers to the partnership this year, promoting associates and special counsel from the firm’s Chicago, New York, San Francisco, and Washington, DC offices.

The elevations expand the partner ranks in its Business Litigation; Content, Media, and Entertainment; Corporate; Financial Services; Government Contracts and Grants; Government Controversies and Public Policy Litigation; and Investigation, Compliance, and Defense practices.

Chicago

Lina Ragep Powell – Lina represents clients in all aspects of business litigation in state and federal courts. She focuses on major contract disputes, insurance coverage, fiduciary duty claims, putative class actions, and responding to civil investigative demands.

Emily Savner – Emily represents and advises a wide range of clients in connection with governmental and internal investigations. She conducts internal investigations on sensitive issues, advises clients through self-reporting of regulatory violations, represents entities subject to civil and criminal investigation, and develops practical compliance programs to help clients mitigate corporate risk.

New York

Jacob Alderdice – Jake represents clients in complex, high-stakes litigation in state and federal courts across the country. Jake has represented clients in contractual disputes, consumer class actions, pre-and post-acquisition disputes, trademark litigation, employment disputes, and other types of civil litigation.

Rémi Jaffré – Rémi helps clients in the media, entertainment, and technology industries achieve favorable outcomes in disputes involving trademarks, copyrights, unfair competition, defamation, and the First Amendment. Rémi also advises clients across industries on protecting their trademark rights and provides strategic counseling on trademark prosecution and portfolio management.

Tali Leinwand – Tali conducts complex internal and government-facing investigations on behalf of corporate entities, boards of directors, and individuals across a wide variety of industries. Tali works closely with clients to navigate and resolve multi-faceted legal challenges that typically involve intense public scrutiny, and she also helps clients design and implement effective corporate compliance programs to align with organizational culture and Department of Justice guidance.

Oleksandr “Sasha” Polonyk – Sasha helps clients with their significant transactions and investments. Sasha has advised clients in domestic and cross-border public and private transactions, on the buy-side and sell-side, including mergers, stock and asset purchases, carve-out transactions, restructurings, as well as joint ventures, strategic alliances, and venture financings.

San Francisco

Benjamin Halbig – Ben assists consumer-facing companies of all sizes navigate complex business litigation in federal and state courts. While Ben has experience with a wide array of high-stakes disputes, he focuses much of his practice on helping companies navigate class action litigation and manage risks generated by former employees.

Washington, DC

Caroline Cease – Caroline’s practice centers on managing large-scale matters in the regulatory and investigative space that touch on high-profile and sensitive policy issues, often involving the technology sector. Caroline has significant experience counseling clients on matters of public policy and assisting clients with fast-paced and sensitive state and federal regulatory investigations, including those implicating complex First Amendment and Section 230 issues. 

William Weaver – Will represents clients facing challenges at the intersection of investigations, regulation, and litigation, helping them respond to sensitive government inquiries and high-stakes lawsuits. Will has helped major technology companies navigate a fast-changing regulatory environment by evaluating challenges to proposed legislation and regulations, preparing top executives for congressional hearings, and defending lawsuits involving hot-button political and legal issues.

Carla Weiss – Carla helps a broad range of clients navigate the complex federal acquisition framework, advising companies on high-stakes issues across the full government contracts lifecycle. She is a well-known bid protest practitioner, providing strategic legal guidance throughout the acquisition process, and ultimately representing protesters challenging contract decisions—and intervenors defending their awards—in all protest forums.
