New York, December 6, 2021 – Jenner & Block announced today that Kayvan B. Sadeghi, an accomplished trial and appellate lawyer, has joined the firm in its New York office. Mr. Sadeghi has nearly two decades of experience in complex commercial and securities litigation, investigations, and enforcement proceedings. “With a focus on securities and complex commercial litigation and enforcement actions, Kayvan adds depth to our securities litigation team,” said Jenner & Block Co-Managing Partners Katya Jestin and Randy Mehrberg. “His blockchain experience also broadens our increasingly robust suite of services for Fintech clients.”

“Kayvan has become a prominent member of the blockchain community, advising numerous clients on crypto and Fintech litigation, enforcement, and related legal issues,” said Stephen L. Ascher, co-chair of the firm’s Securities Litigation and Enforcement Practice. “His deep knowledge of blockchain and decentralized finance, or DeFi, and his broad experience with emerging technologies will add significant strength to our practice.”
Mr. Sadeghi is a member of the Legal Working Group of the Wall Street Blockchain Alliance and has taught cryptocurrency litigation, enforcement, and regulation for a graduate-level Fintech course.

“Kayvan is entrepreneurial by nature, and over the past few years has demonstrated an ability to expand his client base significantly, meeting the demands of this rapidly growing industry,” said Jeremy M. Mr. Sadeghi has worked with The Promise of Justice Initiative and the National Women’s Law Center TIME’S UP Legal Defense Fund, has successfully defended a freelance journalist in a highly publicized defamation case brought by a former top-Mexican official, and worked with the New York Civil Liberties Union in a class action litigation that led to a landmark settlement reforming the use of solitary confinement in New York prisons.

“I’m thrilled to join Jenner & Block. They are a litigation powerhouse with the depth and sophistication to tackle the most complex issues facing blockchain and other emerging industries. They have an amazing team, and I’m eager to work with them to help the firm’s current and future clients navigate the challenges and opportunities ahead,” said Mr. Sadeghi.
