“What Can We Learn about Air Pollution from a Bird’s-Eye View?,” Chicago Bar Association’s YLS Environmental Law Committee
Associate Arie Feltman-Frank is a Co-Chair of the Chicago Bar Association’s (CBA) Young Lawyers Section Environmental Law Committee. The Committee will be hosting a CLE on the role of satellites in improving our understanding of air quality and in addressing unique air pollution challenges. The program will feature a presentation by Dr. Laura Judd, Associate Program Manager for Health and Air Quality Applications in the Applied Sciences Program of NASA’s Earth Science Division. Dr. Judd will review how NASA is providing unseen views of air pollution with satellites and aircraft. Attendees will learn about the role of satellites – including NASA’s newest, called TEMPO – in understanding air quality. Dr. Judd will also discuss targeted activities in the Lake Michigan region and how NASA has partnered with air quality managers and researchers to address the region’s unique air pollution challenges. A question-and-answer session will follow.
This program is open to CBA members, who can attend either in person or via a webcast. It starts at 12:15 pm CT.
