“Understanding and Responding to Racial Justice Protests: Students, Free Speech, and University Police,” NACUA CLE Mini Workshop

On September 16, 2020, Jenner & Block Partner Ishan K. Bhabha will be a panelist in a CLE sponsored by NACUA, the National Association of College and University Attorneys. Considering the evolution of civil rights and laws, as well as recent nationwide protests, Mr. Bhabha’s panel will examine student and community issues related to diversity and inclusivity. Among topics to be discussed: creating a diverse student body and realizing an inclusive environment for all students; institutional responses to bias incidents and hate speech inside and outside the classroom; and institutional relationships with the university and local police, police reform, and community policing efforts. Mr. Bhabha is a co-chair of the Education Practice and a member of the Appellate and Supreme Court Practice.
