“The Supreme Court Has Ruled, Twice!” American Bankruptcy Institute’s Winter Leadership Conference

Partner Cathy Steege will join the American Bankruptcy Institute on December 13 at the Winter Leadership Conference, where she will speak on a panel titled “The Supreme Court Has Ruled, Twice!”

The conference, held in Phoenix, Arizona, features topics tailored for consumer and business practitioners, as well as financial advisors. Cathy’s panel will discuss how debtors and insurance carriers will need to work to address their competing needs, and how debtors will address mass-tort bankruptcies without the third-party-release tool or workarounds. The discussion will also explore case law and confirmed plans in circuits where nonconsensual releases are not permitted.

A co-chair of the firm’s Bankruptcy and Restructuring practice, Cathy focuses her practice on representing committees, debtors, contract counterparties, creditors, trustees, and examiners in complex chapter 11 cases and related out-of-court restructurings and litigation.
