Trade Secrets and Restrictive Covenants Practice Co-Chair Debbie Berman will share her insights during a panel titled “The FTC Final Rule to Ban Noncompete Agreements: What’s Next & Practical Tips for Companies.” Associate Lauren Benigeri will moderate.
The panel is a special CLE presentation focusing on the FTC’s rule to ban noncompete agreements, announced April 23. Debbie and other leading authorities on the issue of noncompetes will provide an overview of the final rule, its impact, and expected legal challenges. Panelists will also discuss what this decision means for companies across various industries and states and practical steps companies can take to protect trade secrets in this environment.

She is the creator and co-author of Jenner & Block’s publication Understanding and Litigating Trade Secrets: An Outline for Analyzing the Statutory and Common Law of Trade Secrets in Illinois. She is a recognized thought leader on the changing landscape of restrictive covenants.
Lauren helps clients in trade secrets, as well as a variety of matters, including antitrust, ERISA, and investigations, compliance, and defense. In her active pro bono practice, she has worked on multiple criminal matters.
