“Policies and Pandemics: Tech Company Insurance Considerations During the COVID-19 Era,” TechGC

On November 12, Partners Jan A. Larson, Brian S. Scarbrough, Jeremy M. Creelan, Caroline L. Meneau, Michael W. Ross, and AnnaMarie A. Van Hoesen presented a CLE program at a private virtual dinner hosted by TechGC. TechGC is an independent, invitation-only community for general counsels of leading venture capital funds and technology companies. The program covered recent insurance developments from a policyholder perspective and what questions general counsel of technology companies should consider when making insurance decisions during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. Also discussed were various types of insurance applicable to technology companies, including business interruption, cyber liability, directors and officers liability, professional liability/errors and omissions, employment practices liability, and general commercial liability, among others. The program presentation was led by Ms. Larson and Mr. Scarbrough, with small group discussions of the issues led by the rest of the team.
