Partner Melissa Root to Moderate Panel at American Bankruptcy Institute Annual Spring Meeting
Co-Chair of Jenner & Block's Bankruptcy and Restructuring Practice Melissa Root will moderate a panel at the American Bankruptcy Institute’s 2025 Annual Spring Meeting on April 25. The event will be held at the Marriott Marquis in Washington DC.
The panel, titled “Appellate Practice for the Rest of Us,” will focus on the first level of appeals to district courts or bankruptcy appellate panels, including whether the party has standing, whether the appeal is ripe and/or interlocutory, and the hot-button issue of mootness.
The panel will feature speakers Jeremy Fischer of Drummond Woodsum, Hon. Cynthia Norton of U.S. Bankruptcy Court (W.D. Mo.), and Isley Gostin of Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP.
A fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy, Melissa helps creditors, debtors, trustees, estate fiduciaries, and investors craft the right approach to achieve their goals whether through aggressive litigation or strategic negotiations. Melissa also represents clients in out-of-court workouts and restructurings, and in acquisitions. She serves as a Chicago Office Managing Partner.
