Jenner & Block Partner Matthew S. Hellman will speak on a panel on criminal law and the death penalty at the Washington Council of Lawyers 2022 Summer Forum on June 16. Mr. Hellman will discuss arguing Nance v. Ward, a death penalty case, before the Supreme Court and how appellate criminal cases present different considerations than trial cases. The other panelists include Naida Henao of Network for Victim Recovery of DC, Emily Olson-Gault of ABA Death Penalty Representation Project, Andrew Wise of Miller & Chevalier, and Tara Chen of the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia.
