“Advanced Fraud-Based Litigation and Uncovering Hidden Assets,” American Bankruptcy Institute’s 2024 Annual Spring Meeting
Partner Shoba Pillay will share her insights about litigating fraud at a panel during the American Bankruptcy Institute’s 2024 Annual Spring Meeting in Washington, DC. She and other panelists will discuss strategies for bringing and litigating multi-count causes of action springing from fraud. They will also offer observations about how to uncover hidden assets in the context of fraud-based avoidance actions.
Shoba’s panel will be held from 9:45 to 10:45 am ET on April 19, the second day of the three-day event held at the Marriott Marquis.
Shoba was the court-appointed examiner in the Chapter 11 cases of Celsius Network LLC and its debtors. Her investigation uncovered fraud and a range of other troubling conduct at the company and culminated in the production of two public reports. A former federal prosecutor, Shoba now helps her clients understand, prepare for, investigate, and litigate a range of internal and external threats. She is a Co-Chair of the firm’s National Security and Crisis and Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Practices.
