In March 2023, Assistant Attorney General (AAG) Kenneth A. Polite, Jr. issued a memorandum (the Polite Memorandum) and delivered a speech clarifying and compiling several recent revisions to the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) policies and practices on the selection of monitors in Criminal Division matters.
