Jenner & Block regularly provides pro bono legal assistance to start-up and established non-profits, including helping organizations with their tax, organizational, real estate, trademark and governance issues.  Some organizations the Firm has assisted include:

  • AgeOptions – connects older adults with community-based resources and options

  • American Special Hockey Association – organizing hockey programs for children with developmental disabilities

  • Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago – enabling young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens

  • Breakthrough Urban Ministries – providing overnight transitional housing and programs for the homeless and unemployed at several facilities on Chicago’s north and west sides

  • Food and Friends – preparing and delivering meals to people living with HIV/AIDS and other life challenging illnesses

  • Frances Willard Historical Association – a museum located in Evanston, Illinois dedicated to the life and work of nineteenth-century temperance and women’s rights crusader Frances Willard

  • Gary Art Works – providing  mentoring, training and employment opportunities with established artists and art programs to the youth of Gary, Indiana

  • National Association for Urban Debate Leagues – organizing urban debate leagues that aim to empower inner-city youth through policy debate training, preparation and mentoring

  • National Association of Veterans Upward Bound Project – helps U.S. military veterans by developing, improving and extending educational access through academic needs assessment and instruction

  • National Council for America’s Second Harvest – the largest hunger-relief organization in the United States

  • Portraits of Hope - empowering individuals and transforming landscapes through high-profile, motivational art, education, and creative therapy projects

  • Respiratory Health Association of Metropolitan Chicago – fighting against life-crippling lung diseases

  • School Street Arts Movement – reaches at-risk youth through the arts

  • Urban Prep Foundation – working to establish an all-boys college prep high school on the south side of Chicago

  • Whole Armour Ministries – a group that distributes the Bible through a variety of media

  • Vital Bridges—helping people impacted by HIV and AIDS build healthier lives
