Omar Jafri is an associate in Jenner & Block’s Chicago Office. Mr. Jafri is a member of the Firm’s Litigation Department.
Prior to joining the Firm as an attorney, Mr. Jafri was a summer associate at Jenner & Block’s Chicago office during the summer of 2007. Before attending law school, he was a Litigation Support Assistant at Cravath, Swaine & Moore (New York, New York) and Skadden Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom (New York, New York).
Mr. Jafri earned a B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin in 2004, where he was on the Dean’s Honor List and the University Honors List. He received his J.D. magna cum laude, in 2008 from the University of Illinois College of Law. While at the University of Illinois, Mr. Jafri was a Harno Scholar and a recipient of the Marguerite Rickert Award for Excellence in Advocacy. He was also a member of the College of Law’s trial and moot court teams. In 2007, Mr. Jafri represented the College of Law at the Midwest Moot Court Competition, winning second place for best oral advocate in the preliminary round and first place for best oral advocate in the semi-final round. In 2008, Mr. Jafri participated in the Law School Champion’s Trial Competition where his team finished in second place.
Mr. Jafri is a member of the Illinois Bar and is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. He is a member of the Chicago Bar, Illinois State Bar and the American Bar Association.
