William M. Hohengarten is a litigator. He represents businesses before the Supreme Court and at the appellate level in cases raising a wide range of cutting-edge issues in matters including intellectual property, constitutional law, fraud, contracts, commercial torts, utility regulation. He has also contributed to cases involving a wide range of constitutional issues, including the Supreme Court’s landmark decisions in Lawrence v. Texas and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. v. Grokster, Ltd.
In 2010, LawDragon magazine recognized Mr. Hohengarten as one of the “3000 Leading Lawyers in America.” Jenner & Block honored him in 2002 with the Albert E. Jenner, Jr. Pro Bono Award, which recognizes attorneys in the Firm who have a strong commitment to pro bono or public service work.
Mr. Hohengarten is Of Counsel in the Firm’s Litigation Department and is a member of the Appellate and Supreme Court Practice.
