Jenner & Block

Som P. Dalal’s practice focuses on general litigation.  He has represented corporate clients in a variety of complex civil proceedings, including matters involving securities litigation, white collar crime, products liability, the False Claims Act, and breach of contract.

Mr. Dalal served as part of the team that successfully represented one of the nation’s largest real estate investment trusts and several of its officers and directors against allegations of insider trading and securities fraud.  He also maintains an active pro bono practice and has devoted a substantial number of hours to pro bono service at Jenner & Block.  Mr. Dalal has represented prisoners detained at the U.S. Naval Station in Guantanamo Bay and has prosecuted their cases in federal district and appellate courts in Washington, D.C.  He has also represented an indigent defendant in a capital habeas proceeding.

Mr. Dalal served as an associate editor on the University of Illinois Law Review.  He is a member of the American Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association.
