Katherine M. Rahill has a comprehensive environmental law practice that includes litigation, transactions and regulatory compliance matters. Clients turn to her for counsel on complex corporate and real estate transactions and regulatory compliance issues, as well as representation in toxic tort litigation and state and federal cleanup actions.
Ms. Rahill’s transactional experience includes serving as environmental counsel in numerous U.S. and international transactions involving complex historical and operational environmental liabilities. In the area of litigation, she regularly assists clients in the management of cost recovery and contribution actions under CERCLA and comparable state environmental statutes. Ms. Rahill has also defended clients in toxic tort actions, both personal injury and property damage claims. Ms. Rahill’s regulatory experience includes counseling clients on compliance issues, assisting with permitting, conducting facility compliance audits, and defending administrative enforcement actions.
Ms. Rahill is a member of the Firm’s Environmental and Workplace Health & Safety Law and Climate and Clean Technology Law Practices. She has an active pro bono practice, including acting as the Firm supervisor for a pro bono clinic at the Circuit Court of Cook County's Domestic Violence Division and working with other Jenner & Block attorneys on behalf of persons with disabilities in northwest Indiana, to improve public transportation.
