Julie Ann Shepard has a broad-based commercial, entertainment, and intellectual property litigation practice.  She has defended media and entertainment clients in antitrust and class actions, shareholder derivative suits and matters involving unfair competition, copyright and trademark infringement, and trade secret misappropriation.  In recent engagements, she has seen cases through to verdict in various federal and state courts, and practiced before the American Arbitration Association and the International Chamber of Commerce.

In 2006, Ms. Shepard was named a “Rising Star,” by Southern California Super Lawyers.

Ms. Shepard is a Partner in the Firm’s Litigation Department and a member of the Content, Media and Entertainment Practice.  Prior to entering private practice, Ms. Shepard served as staff attorney for the Honorable Roland J. Faricy in St. Paul, Minnesota and as a judicial extern to the Superior Court of the County of Sacramento, California.  Ms. Shepard also has acted as a certified special assistant deputy attorney for the City of Los Angeles through the Los Angeles County Bar Trial Advocacy Project.  Immediately prior to joining Jenner & Block, Ms. Shepard was a partner of a large international law firm.
