Joshua M. Segal has extensive appellate experience in patent law, telecommunications law and government contracts law.  At the trial level, Mr. Segal has been a core member of litigation teams in areas ranging from accounting malpractice and antitrust to commercial litigation.

Mr. Segal is a member of the Firm’s Litigation Department and a member of the Firm’s Appellate and Supreme Court Practice.  Besides working on a variety of appellate matters, he frequently serves on moot court panels for attorneys preparing to present argument before the Supreme Court and the federal courts of appeals.  He maintains an active pro bono practice, having represented clients in such areas as disability rights and civil liberties.

Mr. Segal joined Jenner & Block after serving as a Bristow Fellow in the Office of the Solicitor General at the U.S. Department of Justice from 2005-2006, where he was closely involved in a wide variety of matters before the Supreme Court and the federal courts of appeals.  From 2004-2005, Mr. Segal served as a law clerk to the Honorable Merrick B. Garland on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.  While in law school, Mr. Segal served as Executive Editor Chair of the Harvard Law Review and received the Fay Diploma, awarded for the highest three-year grade point average in the graduating class.  He is a member of the Edward Coke Appellate Inn of Court.
