Irina Y. Dmitrieva concentrates in complex civil litigation focusing on appellate practice.  She has successfully argued a number of appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and has had substantial responsibility for appellate briefing in federal and state courts in a variety of matters, including multi-million dollar commercial contract disputes, consumer fraud actions, cases involving federal securities laws, complex issues of statutory construction, and constitutional law.  She has also represented clients in commercial disputes in federal district and state trial courts.

Ms. Dmitrieva is a member of the firm’s Appellate and Supreme Court practice.  She has been recognized by Illinois Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” in Business Litigation in 2009.

Ms. Dmitrieva also maintains an active pro bono practice, including appeals in the Seventh Circuit, petitions for certiorari in the United States Supreme Court, and amicus briefs.  Prior to joining Jenner & Block, Ms. Dmitrieva completed a Ph.D. in media law and published several articles and made numerous presentations at academic conferences involving intellectual property and media law issues.  She has also worked as a news reporter for The Moscow Times in Moscow, Russia.  She is a member of the Illinois Appellate Lawyers’ Association and the Seventh Circuit Bar Association.
