Garrett A. Levin concentrates on litigation of complex matters involving digital copyright. He has significant experience litigating rate-setting proceedings before the Copyright Royalty Board for the use of copyrighted sound recordings. Mr. Levin has also litigated cases at both the trial and appellate level related to emerging issues in copyright law, including claims of secondary liability and the availability of statutory damages. Outside of his copyright work, Mr. Levin has developed significant experience in commercial arbitration and internal investigations.
Mr. Levin is a member of the Content, Media & Entertainment, Communications, and Media and First Amendment Practices. He also serves on the Associates Committee and is actively involved in the Firm’s Mentoring Program.
Mr. Levin maintains an active pro bono practice, focused primarily on immigration law. While attending law school, Mr. Levin was an Executive Editor of the Duke Law and Technology Review, a Staff Editor of the Duke Journal of Constitutional Law and Public Policy. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Levin worked as a documentary television editor on the Peabody-Award-winning PBS series The Rise and Fall of Jim Crow, the Emmy-nominated American Roots Music, and The Three Pickers, a Grammy-nominated concert.
