Don Goff, Jr. is an associate in Jenner & Block’s Chicago office. He is a member of the Firm’s Tax Practice, and focuses on the tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions, private debt offerings, tax controversies, and other federal tax matters.
Mr. Goff has represented public and private corporations and individuals in a wide variety of matters. For example, he has represented a large publicly traded company in a $1.5 billion bond offering, sellers and buyers in various M&A transactions, and private individuals in connection with controversies before the Internal Revenue Service.
In addition to his private practice, Mr. Goff has represented clients in various pro bono matters, including 501(c)(3) tax-exemption filings, and resolution of federal tax matters for indigent clients. While in law school, he worked as a research assistant to Professor John McGinnis, and as a teaching assistant to Professor Daniel Gandert. Mr. Goff also was certified by the Center for Conflict Resolution to serve as a court appointed mediator in the Cook County Court System.
