David P. Sanders is a litigator. He is a member of the Firm’s Complex Commercial Litigation Practice Group and Co-Chair of Jenner & Block’s Media and First Amendment Practice. He has extensive experience litigating business disputes in trial and appellate courts across the country, including the defense of consumer class actions. He also has represented numerous media clients, providing litigation and counseling services on such issues as libel, privacy, defamation, copyright and more.
Mr. Sanders is AV Peer Review Rated, Martindale-Hubbell’s highest peer recognition for ethical standards and legal ability. Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business has identified him as a top media lawyer every year since 2003 based on client reviews, such as one calling him “one of the pre-eminent lawyers in the state.” Consistently nominated by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America, First Amendment law category, Mr. Sanders has also been identified repeatedly as an Illinois Super Lawyer in the Business Litigation and First Amendment/Media Law areas.
Mr. Sanders has served as an adjunct professor of trial advocacy at the Northwestern University School of Law, and is a frequent lecturer on topics related to his practice area. A member of the Chicago Council of Lawyers, he served for many years as Chairman of its Federal Judicial Evaluation Committee, which evaluated candidates for the federal judiciary in Illinois.
