Damon Thayer concentrates on policyholder-side insurance litigation with a secondary focus on bankruptcy and employment litigation. He has extensive experience at the trial and appellate levels, and in arbitration.
Mr. Thayer has a substantial pro bono practice. Among other matters, he has successfully argued immigration cases before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
In addition to serving on the Firm’s Los Angeles Committee for Associate Training & Development, Mr. Thayer is actively involved in the legal community. In 2010, the State Bar of California appointed him to a three-year term on its 15-person Federal Courts Committee. In the Los Angeles County Bar Association Barristers, he serves on the Executive Committee and as Chair of the Networking Committee. On a national level, Mr. Thayer serves as Vice-Chair of the Dispute Resolution Committee of the American Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division. Mr. Thayer also serves on the Editorial Board of Los Angeles Lawyer magazine.
