Jenner & Block attorneys Brian I. Swett and Peter A. Siddiqui will receive the 2006 Burton Award for Achievement in Legal Writing for their ABI Journal article entitled, "Distressed Asset Sales to Insiders: What's the Problem?"
Since its inception seven years ago, the national Burton Award for Legal Achievement program has been widely acclaimed for recognizing outstanding legal writing by practicing attorneys who use "plain, clear and precise language and avoid archaic, stilted legalese."
Messrs. Swett and Siddiqui, both members of the Firm’s Bankruptcy, Workout and Corporate Reorganization Practice, were among the 30 individuals selected by the Burton awards committee from hundreds of applications submitted by the largest 750 law firms in the nation.
They will receive the honor at an awards program themed “Legends of the Law,” to be held on June 12 at The Library of Congress in Washington, DC. Serving as guest speaker at the event is Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist George F. Will.
