Jenner & Block Partner E. Lynn Grayson’s year-long leadership role in the Chicago Bar Association Alliance for Women and her efforts to increase the number of women partners in the profession was commended at the organization’s annual luncheon and awards ceremony.
In her opening remarks, Ms. Grayson told the nearly 300 attendees that she considered the Alliance for Women’s closely-watched Call to Action initiative the major accomplishment of her term as Co-Chair of the organization.
“I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished so far with the Call to Action, but there is still much work to be done,” Ms. Grayson said.
The Call to Action is a special invitation to all Chicago law firms to increase the number of women partners and to enhance leadership opportunities for all women attorneys over the next three years. Jenner & Block was one of nine leadership signatories of the Call to Action, which has 28 law firm participants to date.
Jane DiRenzo Pigott, Managing Director of Fuse3 Group, also served with Ms. Grayson as Co-Chair of the Alliance for Women and its Call to Action initiatives.
“Through programs like the Call to Action, Lynn and Jane have made an outstanding effort to take the Alliance for Women to the next level,” said current CBA President Joy V. Cunningham, Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for Northwestern Memorial HealthCare and Northwestern Memorial Hospital, who was also honored at the luncheon with the Founder’s Award for her contribution to the advancement of women in the legal profession.
Incoming Alliance for Women Co-Chair Kathleen Lynn Roach also praised the work of her predecessors. “We will carry on Lynn and Jane’s philosophy of serving not only the women of the CBA, but all women lawyers in Chicago,” said Ms. Roach.
