Each year, our goal is to recruit a diverse and talented summer associate class across our Chicago, Los Angeles, New York and Washington, DC offices. Our program is designed to give you a sense of what it is like to work at Jenner & Block -- our people, work, values and culture. As a summer associate, you will have the opportunity to work on client matters, attend training programs and social and community events and determine, by the end of the summer, if Jenner & Block is the right fit following your graduation.
In 2011, we hosted 37 summer associates in our Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, and Washington, DC offices. We anticipate having a similar size program in 2012.
Summer associates are chosen based on academic credentials, relevant experience and the results of face-to-face interviews. The process typically begins with an on-campus interview followed by interviews at the Firm. Outstanding second year law students may also submit their applications directly to the Legal Recruiting Office.
About The Program
As a summer associate, you will have the opportunity to work on a broad range of projects, participate in training programs and attend social activities. Our program is designed to help you experience the Firm’s commitment to our clients, pro bono, training and development and an inclusive and diverse environment.
Summer associates are assigned mentors during the summer program. Your mentor helps ensure that you have a successful experience by helping you select assignments, manage your workload and meet people. Your mentor is there to answer any questions that you may have during your time at the Firm.
