Associate Compensation
We recognize associates are the lifeblood of the firm, and we are committed to ensuring they are well-compensated at all levels. Our associates receive a highly competitive starting salary of $160,000 for entry-level attorneys. In addition, we offer clerkship bonuses and moving expense assistance and, in some markets, stipends for bar preparation. Associates have the potential to receive substantial merit bonuses in connection with the annual review process. They also may qualify for referral bonuses of up to $10,000 for the internal placement of a qualified associate attorney.

In many cases, our commitment extends beyond the traditional packages provided by other firms. This is particularly true for our programs that help attorneys balance personal demands relating to family-care and child-rearing with the demands of providing superior legal services to clients. For example, the Firm’s maternity/parental leave policy provides paid time off of up to 18 weeks. In the case of adoptions, the Firm offers up to one week of paid pre-adoption leave and up to 12 weeks paid adoption leave. We also have a generous reduced-work schedule policy. Associates on a reduced-work schedule participate in the annual review process and can receive annual merit bonuses. They are also eligible for promotion to partner.

Our leading edge approach includes providing cost-free smoking cessation programs (treatment and medication), low cost on-site health screens and other programs, including “Step It Up,” our highly successful walking program.
